Fall Fushia 10/26/14

“In the garden, Autumn is, indeed the crowning glory of the year, bringing us the fruition of months of thought and care and toil. And at no season, safe perhaps in Daffodil time, do we get such superb colour effects as from August to November.”
~ Rose G. Kingsley

October 26, 2013 sigSunday, October 26, 2014 -Today is day 26 of the month long poetry challenge and also the day I brought in my indoor plants to survive the winter.  The night temperatures are falling and anytime now frost will lay low many of the flowers that I have planted.  These are the annuals I have left outside (though the fushia and New Guinea impatiens are perennials in milder climates).

Impatiens in the Rain 9/21/14

“Not forever does the bulbul sing
In balmy shades of bowers,
Not forever lasts the spring
Nor ever blossom the flowers.
Not forever reigneth joy,
Sets the sun on days of bliss,
Friendships not forever last,
They know not life, who know not this.”
~ Khushwant Singh

September 21, 2013 sigSunday, September 21, 2014 – It rained today and made lovely droplets on the flowers.  I still have a couple of hummingbirds, though the feeders and yard are really quiet and feel empty after the lively hummingbird summer.  Sending blessings with my little friends on their autumnal migration.

Supermoon and Super Wee Bee 7/12/14

Flashback Thursday, July 12, 2012 – Here is my first gourd, a bird house gourd, and I’m choosing it as my pick photo for today in celebration 🙂
July 12, 2012 sigFlashback Friday, July 12, 2013 –
This is my pick photo for today and it stars a dragonfly resting on a mullein stalk in my front yard. I was happy to get this one with it’s blue, black and white wings. I haven’t seen as many dragonflies cruising my street this year as I have in past years, nor have I seen as many damselflies.
July 12, 2013 sigSaturday, July 12, 2014 – Today we had the full moon of Oak and it happened to also be a supermoon.  I also have one of the tiniest bees I’ve seen on impatiens.  There were a few pollinating the impatiens, some darker and some more metallic coloured.
