Fall Fushia 10/26/14

“In the garden, Autumn is, indeed the crowning glory of the year, bringing us the fruition of months of thought and care and toil. And at no season, safe perhaps in Daffodil time, do we get such superb colour effects as from August to November.”
~ Rose G. Kingsley

October 26, 2013 sigSunday, October 26, 2014 -Today is day 26 of the month long poetry challenge and also the day I brought in my indoor plants to survive the winter.  The night temperatures are falling and anytime now frost will lay low many of the flowers that I have planted.  These are the annuals I have left outside (though the fushia and New Guinea impatiens are perennials in milder climates).

October 17, 2013 sigFriday October 17, 2014 – Here we have the last datura flower, which may have not been pollinated (because they usually fall over sometime the day after their evening opening), and a datura seed pod opening.  We also have a scrub jay, wasp, mourning dove, and the blossoms of fushia and centaurea.  It is day 17 of the month long poetry challenge 🙂

September 13, 2013 sigSaturday, September 13, 2014 – Today I am enjoying a few of our resident pollinators in the garden. The very first picture is of a peeping hummingbird.  This one wants to visit the feeder and is on alert for us and the other hummingbird that is still around.  We also have some other little friends.
