A Day of Spiders (Also First Milkweed Opening) 5/28/14

Flashback Monday, May 28, 2012 – One phrase captures today’s pick photo of the day and that is “the circle of life”. I know that some of you are going to say “eeeeeuuuwwww” or “ick” but how many times do you get a chance to see a jumping spider take down a honeybee? That is exactly what I saw and was lucky enough to already be out and taking pictures for my project! How lucky is that? Here you can see a jumping spider (not sure which kind) just after capturing a honeybee that was gathering milkweed nectar and pollen. Kind of amazing to see.

May 28, 2013 sigWednesday, May 28, 2014 – The first thing I saw today was an instant (and temporary) stream that was created in front of my house!  Some of the neighborhood children played in it downstream (though I didn’t take any photos of them).
