Pretty Little Flowers 5/6/14

Flashback Sunday, May 6, 2012 – This is my pick photo of the day and features the fruit of the maple blossom, maple samaras ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Samaras are winged shapes that enclose the maple seeds. When ripe these fall from the tree and are carried off whirring by the wind. I find it amazing how fast the flowers turned into these seeds. It wasn’t that long ago that I featured the maple blossoms here in my project!

Where oxlips and the nodding violet grows,
Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine,
With sweet musk-roses and with eglantine.โ€
