Flashback Saturday, May 5, 2014 – The full moon has been moving in the horizon towards the south and now has to rise above trees as well as the Wasatch Mountains for me to get a picture. This is my pick photo of the day and features the full moon of Willow rising above my across the street neighbors’ trees. I love how you can see the trees in silhouette along with the mysterious blue color in part of the moon’s aura. Happy Cinco de Mayo 🙂
Flashback Sunday, May 5, 2014 – This is my pick photo for the day and it stars a most likely controversial plant (though I don’t know what kind it is). I know these plants are considered a “weed” though to me it is hard to think of any plant as a “weed”. I really love the delicate looks and how the light shines giving this an ethereal look.
“A child’s world is fresh and new and beautiful, full or wonder and excitement. It is our misfortune that for most of us that clear-eyed vision, that true instinct for what is beautiful and awe-inspiring, is dimmed and even lost before we reach adulthood. If I had influence with the good fairy who is supposed to preside over the christening of all children, I should ask that her gift to each child in the world be a sense of wonder so indestructible that it would last throughout life, as an unfailing antidote against the boredom and disenchantment of later year…the alienation from the sources of our strength.”
~ Rachel Carson
“If a child is to keep alive his inborn sense of wonder without any such gift from the fairies, he needs the companionship of at least one adult who can share it, rediscovering with him the joy, excitement and mystery of the world we live in.”
~ Rachel Carson
