Flashback Wednesday, April 4, 2012 – This is my photo of the day and shows the silhouette of trees with a very broody, yet painterly precipitating sunset clouds. I love this photo because it is just so mood provoking and looks like watercolours. The rain coming down is beautiful, too.
Flashback Thursday, April 4, 2013 – This is my pick photo for today and it stars a squash (or mason) bee. These are nesting in a neighbor’s yard and I went down to try and find out if they were going to use chemicals on their yard this year. I’m hoping that they will keep their habitat as there are a number of them nesting in the same area. Native pollinators are something I have always been interested in and cared deeply about. I hope my neighborhood activism helps these pollinating friends survive! (Note from 4/4/14/: This is actually a leaf-cutting bee species and the neighbor’s had lawn treatment so we’ll have to see if there are any this year, though none so far.)
