Frosty Morning and Iced Thistles 1/21/14

Flashback 2012 – Snow storm where you can see the action (falling snow) highlighted against the neighbor’s garage from my back yard. You can see a butterfly bush and in the background a plum tree. This is much needed snow and is more appropriate to the season than the rain we have been having. In fact I don’t remember when I’ve actually seen rain in January where I live before.  Saturday, January 21st

January 21, 2012 sigFlashback 2013 – Sunrise on Monday, January 21, 2013.  This is my pick photo for today and it stars icicles hanging on the east side of my porch and the rising sun. In the background is the cottonwood tree that lives across the street and features more prominently in a couple of today’s extras. The icicles look like they could be made of tarnished silver or pewter.

January 21, 2013 sigToday, Tuesday in 2014 I stopped by the Jordan River early this morning and took these photos of mostly thistles with ice crystals on them.  There’s also one photo of some kind of grass (not sure if it is native or introduced).
